Donald Dean Allen is of counsel with Block Markus & Williams LLC and has specialized in the representation of secured creditors, asset purchasers, debtors, official committees, trustees and various governmental entities in workouts, restructurings, bankruptcy proceedings and commercial real estate matters since 1983.
Don served as a member of the business school faculty of the University of Phoenix. In addition, he is a frequent lecturer and writer on various issues pertaining to bankruptcy law and real estate law for CLE International, the National Association of Credit Managers, Lorman Educational Services, Sterling Educational Services, and other professional organizations.
Don is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Mr. Allen is currently the co‑chair of the bankruptcy subsection of the Colorado Bar Association and is certified as a business bankruptcy specialist by The American Board of Certification. Prior to joining Block Markus & Williams LLC, Don practiced bankruptcy law with Holland & Hart LLP in Denver, Colorado.
Don received his B.A. from University of Colorado - Boulder in 1976 and his J.D. from the University of Santa Clara in 1979, where he was a member of the Board of Editors of the Law Review and received the Trial Attorneys Outstanding Oral Advocate Award.
Don is admitted to the Colorado and California State Bars.
