Jeffery O. McAnallen is of counsel with Block Markus & Williams LLC and has specialized in creditors' rights, business bankruptcies, loan workouts and restructurings, commercial litigation, and the representation of creditors and financial institutions in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts since 1981.
Prior to joining Block Markus & Williams LLC, Jeff was a member of Rider Edwards McAnallen & Taylor, LLC, where, among other things, he represented agricultural lenders in hundreds of Chapter 12 bankruptcy cases. Jeff also served as Assistant General Counsel for Otero Savings and Loan in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he developed an expertise in commercial real estate and mortgage lending.
Most recently, Jeff was a Senior Attorney in the Qwest Communications Law Department, where he represented Qwest and managed litigation in bankruptcy matters. During his tenure with Qwest, Jeff was involved in over 200 complex telecom and business bankruptcies, including some of the largest bankruptcy filings in history such as Adelphia, Genuity, Global Crossing, WorldCom, Allegiance, KPNQwest, and Teleglobe.
Throughout his career, Jeff has had an interest in tax law and is licensed to practice before the United States Tax Court. He is currently enrolled in the Masters of Tax Program at the University of Denver School of Law, where he is a candidate for an LLM in Taxation. Jeff's tax background, which includes substantial exposure to accounting and finance issues, has proven to be an asset in understanding and analyzing the issues facing a client in bankruptcy and insolvency cases.
He is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Turnaround Management Association and the Denver Bar Association, and is a member of the Telecommunications Subsection of the Colorado Bar Association.
Jeff earned his undergraduate degree from the Harvard University in 1978 and his law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1981.
Jeff is admitted to the Colorado State Bar.
