Peter Q. Murphy is of counsel with Block Markus & Williams LLC, where he specializes in commercial litigation and the representation of secured creditors, lessors, asset purchasers, debtors, official committees, and trustees in workouts, restructurings, and bankruptcy proceedings.
Prior to joining Block Markus & Williams LLC, Peter was a member of a large law firm in the Rocky Mountain Region. Peter was awarded one of the two national Pegasus Scholarships by the American Inns of Court Foundation in 1998 and was honored by the Denver Bar Association for his pro bono service in 1997.
Peter is a member of the Bankruptcy Subsection of the Denver Bar Association and the Financial Institutions Subsection of the Colorado Bar Association.
Peter received his B.S. degree from Virginia Tech in 1984 and his J.D. degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1993. During his tenure at the University of Denver, Peter was President of the Moot Court Board, a member of the Law Review, and a member of the National Appellate Moot Court Team. Peter’s law review article was published in the University of Denver Law Review, and he was awarded the McAllister Memorial Advocacy Fellowship in 1993.
Peter is admitted to the Colorado Bar, the Federal District Court for the District of Colorado, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
